The Rabbit with the 2.5L was one of their most reliable models. Earlier years (06-08) were vulnerable to timing chain issues and VW automatics often have valve body issues (not the end of the world). Saying that, a later year rabbit or golf with 2.5L are very solid especially with the manual transmission. 2013 was the last year of the 2.5L afaik.
