I recently had my car serviced. I asked if the pollen filter needed replacing, and was told no its okay. I thought well its done 30 000 miles now and its 3 years old and as far as I was aware its never been done. So I opened it up and had a look. Low and behold it was black and full of debris
Filter I bought has an air flow direction arrow which is oposite to the one on original filter. It is not rectangular, so it fits only one way, and then arrow is pointing to the passengers door (regular car with a steering wheel on the left side). However, previous filter had it oposite. And I can feel air comes from the side of passengers door.
This step is actually very basic. Once you’ve found the position of the filter, all you have to do is to unclip the box in which it is located and carefully pull it out. Be careful when taking it out to look carefully in which direction it is positioned (you will often find an arrow that gives the direction of the air), so remember to to gain access you first need to remove the trim. put your fingers under the trim near the false vent and pull away. once released along this edge pull the trim towards the back of the car. as the front edge is held in place by a hook which locks into the side of the heater control unit until it comes free. next look for the filter cover. tvAzSze.
